The DannyTaylor Effect: Unfinished Business at FIWC
Known for his fast pace counter-attacks and deadly finishing DannyTaylor has taken FIFA Leagues by storm after climbing up the PS3 and XBOX 360 Ladder standings in just a few weeks. Ranked by many as the best FIFA 09 Gamer in UK, DannyTaylor knows he still has a lot to work on if he wants to get past the quarter-finals of FIWC 2010 something he has failed to do in the last two years.
Pokrivac14: Hey folks I'm here with DannyTaylor, one of Fifa Leagues and possibly the world's best players at the moment. How are you today? DannyTaylor:I'm fine thanks
Pokrivac14: Ok so first things first, Xbox or ps3? DannyTaylor:Definitely PS3, because I like the feel of the game more, I guess I'm more used to it, and also i've been to the world finals which was played on PS3
Pokrivac14: Before we move onto the world finals and your road on how you go there. Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got into playing Fifa. DannyTaylor:I played all the Fifes since like Fifa 97, but then was when I was like 6 or 7 years old, I’ve always liked the games and always just played them for fun, but Fifa 08 when I got the game for ps3, I found out about the FIWC which is really when I first heard anything about competitive gaming.
Pokrivac14: So you can say you’re a veteran of the game then? Tell us a bit more about the FIWC, how you went in it and your journey on how you got there, this year and last year. DannyTaylor:Both years I made it through online qualification, in 08 I lost in the quater finals 5-4 after missing a last minute penalty, this year I got to the same stage and lost in a penalty shootout, 5-4, after the game finished 4-4 after extra time.
Pokrivac14: Both games must've been real nail biters. I'm sure you're looking for an improved finish next year after losing out on such heartbreaking circumstances. What do you think about Fifa10 and how you will go with that considering all the improvement, eg 360 degree dribbling? DannyTaylor:Well ill be getting the game straight away, seeing exactly how much it has changed, and seeing what still works and what doesn’t, of course ill straight away be looking for details regarding FIWC 2010, as 2 quarter finals in a row hasn't really satisfied me, the first year was an achievement but to make no progress in a whole year didn’t really please me, I think Fifa 10 will be a much better game as EA will have learned from many mistakes made in 09.
Pokrivac14: Excellent answer and you seem very dedicated to improving as every new version comes out. Tell us a bit about your playing style and how you think the game should be played? DannyTaylor:Obviously id like to play a nice realistic game, and play a lot of passing and moving, but unfortunately at the highest level that just doesn’t work, when you really want to win you have to stay away from playing like you would in real life, Fifa is about finding the things that work, not about how you’d like to play, that is if you really want to win of course, my playing style this year basically involved a lot of passing and moving all over the pitch, not to much dribbling or trying anything too difficult.
Pokrivac14: Sounds simple but we all know it’s the simple things that are hardest to do. Let’s steer away from Fifa just for a little bit, do you play football in real life? what team do you support and now that Ronaldo has left EPL and with Real Madrid making big signings who will win La Liga and which is better, EPL or La Liga? DannyTaylor:Yes I play football in real life, I support Middlesbrough (bad times at the moment) Barcelona will still win La Liga and Man U will still win EPL, the Premier League is still a better league by far.
Pokrivac14: Before we conclude this interview, any advice to the other Fifa players out there who are considering stepping up onto the competitive stage. You think Fifa Leagues is a good place to start out at? DannyTaylor:Yes Fifa Leagues is an ideal place to start since you don’t risk anything as it is competitive yet you don’t have to put your own cash out unlike other sites such as World Gaming, Gamer Saloon and Bringit.
Pokrivac14: Thank you DannyTaylor for your time and your wonderful answers. I wish you the best of luck in any future competitions and in FIWC 2010. Any last shout-outs? DannyTaylor:Thank you Pokrivac14 for the chance on being interviewed and I look forward to the next one. And nah, no shout outs at the moment.

Total agreed... .fifa is a great game and to be a good player u have to know how to play under pressure.... and I agree with both danny and addicto its hard to play beatiful football in competitions such FIWC, or tournaments in fifalueagues, worldagmin ..etc...
I just started to play fifa 10 , to me its harder to dribble... it looks like players moves with some kind of lag... cant get used to that...

You are right about that, "unfortunately at the highest level that just doesn’t work, when you really want to win you have to stay away from playing like you would in real life, Fifa is about finding the things that work"
